Arsenal are in talks with PSG over a deal for Julian Draxler in what could be part of an exciting double transfer this week.
Discussions with the French club are well underway for midfielder Draxler.
The 27-year-old Germany international is out of contract in June and Arsenal are prepared to pay a small fee to get the player to London this month.
TodoFichajes report that Draxler is a favourite of Mikel Arteta and the Gunners boss has been pushing hard for the former Schalke man.
Arteta believes Draxler will give them another quality midfield option. And with Mesut Ozil’s £350,000-a-week salary off the wage bill there is wiggle room for January recruits.
Leeds have also been mentioned as suitors for the player.
Another arrival this month is widely expected to be Real Madrid’s Martin Odegaard.
Arsenal have won the race to sign Odegaard on loan after beating off competition from Real Sociedad and Ajax.
The 22-year-old, who was on loan with Sociedad last term, will sign on a temporary deal until the end of the season.
Odegaard has only started three La Liga matches so far this season. The Norway international has clocked up just 233 minutes of league action in total.
Indeed, the player has played just five minutes of football since the start of December. But if he passes his medical he could be available for the game against Manchester United on Saturday.
Reports last week claimed Arsenal had opened talks with Real over a deal.
Over the weekend, according to El Confidencial, a deal to take Odegaard to north London on loan had been agreed.
The transfer will be a real coup for technical director Edu following some recent criticism of his signings.
