Arsenal turn attentions towards Serie A shotstopper in new keeper search

The agent of Inter Milan goalkeeper Ionut Radu has revealed that Arsenal are interested in the 22-year-old.

Radu impressed on loan at Genoa last season, making 33 appearances in total in his first full season in Serie A. As a result, several clubs are interested in signing the Romanian, who despite his successful campaign has little chance of usurping Samir Handanovic as Inter’s number one.

Arsenal are in need of a new goalkeeper following the retirement of Petr Cech, and it has been confirmed that Radu is on their radar.

Radu’s agent, Crescenzo Cecere, told FCInterNews: “There are so many teams interested, including Lyon. Recently, there was also a survey from Arsenal.

“He is a very interesting prospect since he is growing a lot, from all points of view.”

Radu’s is still technically under contract at Genoa until 2021, but Inter have a buyback clause. However, he has admitted that he would like to spend one more year at Genoa thanks to his developments there.

Arsenal have also been linked with Valencia’s Neto, but appear to have been priced out of a deal – while David Ospina wants to secure a permanent move to Napoli.
