Arsenal will await the outcome of Nice’s Champions League qualification before making a move for Jean Michael Seri, according to reports.

The Ligue 1 side defeated Ajax in the third round of qualifying this week and will move onto the play-off round, where they will face a team over two legs to determine whether they make it through to the group stages.

The Ivory Coast international provided two assists in the last outing against the Dutch outfit and he will be key to helping Nice qualify.

ESPN claims that Arsenal’s scouts have been monitoring Seri and that the club are ready to battle it out with north London rivals Tottenham for the midfielder.

Seri is understood to be valued at around £33million after scoring seven goals and provided nine assists in Ligue 1 last campaign.

If Nice were to qualify for the Champions League group stages then it could complicate matters for the Gunners with the Premier League side unable to offer that.

Arsene Wenger’s side failed to qualify for the Champions League last season after they finished fifth in the league but they did end the campaign on a high note with victory in the FA Cup final.
