Arsene Wenger offered four-year deal to make France return
Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly offered Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger the job of general manager.
Wenger recently announced he was leaving the Gunners this summer after 22 years at the helm and later confirmed his intention was to carry on working.
Now, according to Le10 Sport, PSG, have offered Wenger, 68, a four-year deal as general manager.
PSG boss Unai Emery today announced he was leaving his post as Paris St Germain coach at the end of the season.
The Spaniard has steered PSG to another Ligue 1 title but they have again fallen short of expectations in the Champions League, losing to holders Real Madrid at the last 16 stage.
“I have communicated to the players that I am leaving,” Emery is quoted as saying on the official PSG Twitter feed.
“I thank president Nasser Al Khelaifi, the director of sport Antero Henrique, the supporters and all the players for these two seasons.”
Emery is now poised to go after PSG face third-tier Les Herbiers in the French Cup final at the Stade de France on May 8.
The former Sevilla boss, said: “I have told the players, Antero and the president that it is finished. I thank everybody. All that remains is the Coupe de France final.
“After an hour-long meeting between friends, I will leave with respect.
“If they ask me, I will help the new coach.
“First of all, PSG must be strong domestically – I believe in this project.”
Ex-Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel is expected to replace Emery as boss with the Ligue 1 champions wanting Wenger appointed too in a role overseeing him.
