Everton have joined Arsenal in the race for disgruntled Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to reports.
France international Rabiot drew controversy last season by running down his contract at PSG, where he made no appearances during the last six months of his stay there.
Moving to pastures new in Italy with Juventus has not given him the new lease of life he would have hoped for, though, as he has started just five times in Serie A.
Already linked with a move away, Rabiot has been suggested as a target for Arsenal, where he could feasibly act as a replacement for Granit Xhaka – who is being linked with Hertha Berlin despite Mikel Arteta wanting to keep him.
However, Foot Mercato also throw Everton’s name into the hat, claiming that the Toffees have made contact with his mother and agent Veronique Rabiot.
Arsenal would appear to be the leading candidates for now, though, given that Arteta is rumoured to have contacted Rabiot over his plans, with the 24-year-old intrigued by his ideas.
However, Juventus want to keep hold of their summer investment, and would rather sell former Liverpool midfielder Emre Can – who has been linked with a return to the Premier League with Manchester United.
