Arteta given stunning boost with Arsenal the ‘preferred destination’ for world-class star over Man Utd, Liverpool
Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi of PSG
A bombshell report has revealed Arsenal have a much better chance of signing a world-renowned forward than Manchester United or Liverpool, with two big reasons key.
Arsenal are having a huge summer transfer window, with one new player already through the door and two more stars set to follow. They began the next phase of Mikel Arteta’s revolution by signing forward Kai Havertz from Chelsea in a £65million deal. And he will soon be followed to north London by Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber.
Arsenal have reached a £105m agreement with West Ham for Rice, while also finalising a £38.6m deal with Ajax for Timber. The Gunners have resultantly scheduled medicals for both players ahead of them officially joining the club.
And Arsenal might be in a good position to follow those impressive transfers up with the incredible capture of Kylian Mbappe next year.
The attacker has broken Paris Saint-Germain hearts by revealing he will not activate the option to extend his contract from 2024 to 2025. As such, PSG have announced he will either have to sign a new contract or be sold in a big-money deal this summer.
But it is understood Mbappe wants to go against PSG’s wishes by running down his contract before leaving the French capital on a free transfer in 2024.

Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool are the main Premier League clubs who have been linked with him. And according to The Independent, Arsenal would be Mbappe’s ‘first preference’ if those three teams came calling. And there are two main reasons for this.
The first is that the Frenchman has been impressed by Arsenal’s rise under Arteta. They have improved their points tally in each season Arteta has been in charge and managed to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title last term. They ultimately finished second, but this has seen them qualify for the Champions League, a competition Mbappe certainly wants to be playing in.

The second big factor is that Mbappe would ‘enjoy the challenge’ of helping Arsenal win their first league title since 2003-04.
The report does note that Mbappe’s wage demands would be a huge strain on Arsenal’s finances, plus the Gunners have not been in contact with his entourage as of yet.
Away from England, Real Madrid is widely known to be the 24-year-old’s most likely next destination. They have saved up enough money to offer him a colossal contract and can give him the best chance of winning several Ballon d’Or trophies, which would see him emulate his idol Cristiano Ronaldo.
But if a Madrid move fails to materialise – Los Blancos president Florentino Perez has been left very frustrated by Mbappe in the past – then Arsenal will be at the front of the queue to try and sign the world-class star.
