Aston Villa add former Ajax star on loan

Aston Villa have completed the loan signing of Anwar El Ghazi from Lille.

The Netherlands international joins up with Steve Bruce’s side for the season after one-and-a-half years in France.

The Championship club confirmed the arrival of the Ajax academy graduate this evening, ahead of their fixture with Brentford.

El Ghazi, 23, plays as a winger and will be hoping to improve on the four goals he scored in Ligue 1 last season. His best goalscoring season was in 2015-16, when he netted 11 times for Ajax.

Meanwhile, Villa are also linked with a loan deal for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham.
