Manchester United are reportedly ready to send Axel Tuanzebe back on loan to Aston Villa this summer but only if they bring in a new centre-back first.
The Red Devils are currently in the process of trying to seal a deal for Leicester and England defender Harry Maguire, having previously seen an offer for West Ham’s Issa Diop knocked back.
The report in Metro, who have referenced The Sun, claims that United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to sign three more players this summer – with a new centre-back top of his priorities.
If a deal for Maguire does get done, with Leicester reportedly wanting around £80m for the player, then the report adds that Tuanzebe will be allowed to leave on loan.
The 21-year-old is regarded as a decent prospect at Old Trafford, so much so that he was recently handed a new three-year deal at the club.
However, it would appear that he will be allowed to head back to Villa – where on shone as they won promotion back to the Premier League last season – if Maguire swaps Leicester for a move to Manchester.
