Aubameyang rules out Dortmund exit

Both Arsenal and Tottenham have been linked with Aubameyang as they seek to improve their forward options before the start of the new season, while it had been reported on the continent that Paris Saint-Germain were keen to take the former Saint-Etienne striker back to Ligue 1.

Aubameyang, however, has no desire to leave Dortmund this summer.

“You can take it for granted that I am not going to waste any time thinking about giving up how happy I am at Borussia, in the city of Dortmund and with this team,” he told the Welt am Sonntag newspaper, after scoring in a 2-0 friendly win over Juventus.

“Dortmund have won the title twice in the last five years, we reached a Champions League final and had Real Madrid on the brink of elimination in the group stage when they went on to win it.

“If I didn’t believe that I could win titles with Dortmund, then I wouldn’t be here.

“There should not be any reason for any team to hide in this league. We’ve always proven we are capable of beating [Bayern Munich] in a single match, but of course they have a better chance over the course of a season.

“But I don’t see them having any particular right to the title like many people here in Germany do.”

Speculation on Sunday suggests Arsenal now want to sign Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, while Tottenham are reported to be closing in on West Brom’s Saido Berahino and are also said to be keen on Stuttgart’s Timo Werner.
