Avram Glazer responded with a blunt reply when questioned by a reporter if the European Super League farce would see him put the club up for sale.

There is disharmony in the English game as protesters make their feelings clear on the failed plan. A group of United supporters gathered outside the Carrington training complex on Thursday, blocking both entrances. The move came in response to the chaos over the European Super League.

After 12 clubs, including the Red Devils, made their bombshell announcement on Sunday, the plans fell through within 48 hours.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has detailed the 10-minute chat he had with supporters in a effort to get them back onside.

Solskjaer tsaid: “I will always listen to the fans and I thought it was the only right thing to do.

“Go and listen to them, speak to them and have a nice discussion with them – a peaceful discussion.

“It’s important that we respect each other and respect each other’s views. I said a few things about what I think the team will do in the future. We don’t really need to discuss that.

“But it was a good 10 minutes and I was happy with that, of course. We didn’t shake hands, we gave a fist pump and then we parted.”

However, the wounds appear to cut deep. One of the game’s most fierce campaigners against the ESL was Gary Neville.

The Sky Sports pundit, in the wake of the European Super League’s collapse, then called on the Glazer family to sell-up. In fact, Neville’s venomous message to United’s Florida-based owners was particularly hard-hitting.

United co-owner Joel Glazer has subsequently sent a open letter of apology.

Avram Glazer asked about United sale

However, the disharmony still remains and issues off the pitch remain a concern.

Indeed, his brother Avram Glazer was approached by a Daily Mirror journalist about selling the club.

Mirror reporter Christopher Bucktin then asked Avram: “Are you now going to sell the club Mr Glazer, as it’s clear you have no understanding of your club’s supporters or British fans?”

But the 60-year-old, who also owns NFL franchise the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, snapped back to say only “no comment” before driving off.

Who the Glazers would sell to, of course, would prove the big question and it seems for now at least, they will remain as United’s owners.
