Barcelona consider shock swoop for £20m-rated Arsenal defender

Barcelona are considering a shock summer move for Arsenal full-back Sead Kolasinac, according to the latest reports.

Kolasinac made 24 Premier League appearances last season plus 10 in the Europa Leauge, having missed the start of the campaign with an injury.

However, the Gunners have been linked with signing someone else in his position, with Unai Emery tipped to make a move for Ajax’s Argentina star Nicolas Tagliafico.

Despite the speculation, as well as criticism from a former defender, Kolasinac recently explained that he is happy at Arsenal – but that has not stopped a LaLiga giant from taking interest.

Unai Emery is expected to work under a restricted budget this summer after the Gunners failed to qualify for the Champions League, and Barcelona could look to capitalise on that in order to serve their own needs.

Reports in Spain (via Sportsmole) claim that Barcelona want Kolasinac as a backup to Jordi Alba, who received a bumper new deal earlier in the year.

Arsenal have slapped a £20m price tag on Kolasinac it has been claimed, which means Barca could try and source a cheaper alternative.
