Barcelona misfit, tipped to replace Aaron Ramsey, favours Arsenal move

Denis Suarez TEAMtalk

Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez is reportedly favouring a move to Arsenal as he continues to struggle to make an impact at the Nou Camp.

The highly-rated 24-year-old has made just one appearance for the Catalan giants in all competitions this season, as Ernesto Valverde has preferred to use other midfield options.

And with Suarez unlikely to replace the likes of Sergio Busquets, Arthur, Ivan Rakitic and Arturo Vidal at the heart of the Barca midfield any time soon, it comes as no surprise to see the player linked with a Nou Camp exit.

With that in mind, The Sun claims that Suarez would prefer to head to The Emirates, having also been linked with Chelsea in the past.

Aaron Ramsey’s expected exit, either in January for a cut-price fee or running down his contract in the summer, will leave a whole in the heart of Arsenal’s midfield – one which Suarez could fill.

Unai Emery’s current midfield options of Lucas Torreira, Granit Xhaka, Mohamed Elneny and Matteo Guendouzi lack creativity, something that Suarez could rectify.

Chelsea, however, also remain keen on the player as they will lose fellow Real midfielder Mateo Kovacic when his loan spell comes to an end in May.
