Barcelona ready to send shockwaves through Man City with summer raid

Barcelona have reportedly stepped up their efforts to land Manchester City’s record goalscorer striker Sergio Aguero on a free this summer.
The Argentina star is nearing the end of his contract at the Etihad Stadium, with reports suggesting he will move on.
To that end, Barca are ready to pounce by making their move, according to Mundo Deportivo, as cited by Caught Offside.
The Catalan giants are on the hunt for attacking reinforcements after losing Luis Suarez to Atletico Madrid.
Antoine Griezmann has not been at his best since joining the club, while Lionel Messi’s long-term future remains unclear.
To that end, Mundo suggests that Aguero’s arrival would go some way to appeasing the unhappy Messi.
Aguero has been one of the world’s top strikers for a number of years. However, he has consistently been plagued by injury issues.
City ready to cut their losses
Those problems are said to be leaning towards City cutting their losses on their record goalscorer.
The 32-year-old would be one of the best free agents on the market if that was to happen.
The report adds that Barca consider a free transfer move for Aguero as a low-risk deal.
Ronald Koeman is looking to revamp an aging side in Catalonia. Although Aguero would not bring down their average add, he would certainly add proven quality to Barcelona’s squad.
