Barcelona star left with ‘bitter taste’ ready to take up Tuchel’s Chelsea offer

Miralem Pjanic. Barcelona midfielder frustrated

Chelsea are emerging as a serious transfer option for Miralem Pjanic this summer after the midfielder hit out at Barcelona in a stunning rant on social media.

The 31-year-old has endured a miserable debut campaign at the Nou Camp, having joined the Catalan giants in a whopping £60million transfer last summer, with Arthur Melo heading in the opposite direction to Juventus for £75m.

But after just 11 months at Barca, Pjanic could now be heading for the Nou Camp exit door.

According to reports last week, Pjanic has been offered to several big clubs around Europe ahead of a predicted summer exit.

Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, Pjanic has already received ‘several notable approaches to leave’. The Catalonian paper claims Chelsea, Bayern Munich and PSG have all been in touch with regards a summer move.

Of the three, it’s claimed a move to Chelsea most appeals for the Bosnian international. The project Thomas Tuchel is orchestrating at Stamford Bridge is said to appeal to Pjanic, who has always had a liking for the English game.

In addition, they state he will be ‘the first to ask to leave’ Barca should Ronald Koeman continue as manager.

All in all, it seems Pjanic’s time at Barca is set to come to an end this summer. He has managed just six starts in LaLiga as Barca finished third in the table.

Indeed, even teenagers Pedri and Ilaix Moriba were given minutes ahead of the former Juventus man.

Liverpool are being linked with a £43m move for Antoine Griezmann, while Man Utd look set to part ways with David James.

Revealing how his lack of game time has left him with a bitter taste, Pjanic suggested he’s not happy with his situation.

“Respect the team,” Pjanic wrote. “Give everything on and off the pitch. This is what Barcelona deserves and this is what I’ve done with my teammates from day one.

“This season leaves me with a bitter taste and questions that still need answers. A hug to all Catalans, see you soon. Come on Barcelona, always.”

Pjanic, who has a staggering £365m buyout clause in his contract, has three years left on his current deal. He also reportedly earns a whopping £270,000-a-week, which could present an issue for any club wanting him.
