Bayern Munich swoop for £50m Fulham midfielder leaves door wide open for Liverpool to fill final piece of Klopp puzzle

Palhinha is tipped to join Bayern, with Gravenberch Liverpool bound
Bayern Munich are reportedly poised to swoop for a £50million Fulham star, which is almost certain to open the door for Liverpool to make a midfield signing of their own.
The German giants are said to be ready to swoop for Cottagers star Joao Palhinha, who has previously been a target for the Reds, as Thomas Tuchel is desperate to get a new defensive midfielder into his ranks.
Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg reports that Bayern want to sign the 28-year-old, who himself is keen on a move to the Allianz Arena.
Plettenberg claims that personal terms would not be an issue for the Portugal international, who is expected to cost around £50million.
However, to fund the deal, the reigning Bundesliga champions are likely to have to offload a player first – and that is where Liverpool come in.
The Anfield outfit have been pursuing Bayern star Ryan Gravenberch for much of the summer, and reports on Wednesday revealed that the Reds are in talks with the player over a switch to Merseyside.
The Netherlands international is the dynamic box-to-box midfielder that Klopp has been crying out for since beginning his rebuild in the middle of the park.
Gravenberch heading to Liverpool for around £30m
Indeed, it’s reported that Gravenberch could join Liverpool for a fee in the region of £30m, after struggling to make any real impact at Bayern.

As for Palhinha, the Portugal international has been outstanding for Marco Silva’s men since arriving in west London last summer for £20m from Sporting Lisbon.
The 28-year-old has scored five times in 43 appearances for the club in all competitions.
