Bayern name €70m price for Barcelona target and Guardiola favourite

Thiago Alcantara

Bayern Munich have told Barcelona that it will cost them €70m to re-sign Thiago Alcantara this summer, according to reports in Spain.

Spain international Thiago is a major target for the La Liga champions, who are looking to add to their midfield following Andres Iniesta’s departure.

Manchester City’s Ilkay Gundogan has also been suggested as a target, but Barcelona are mainly interested in their former player Thiago.

Thiago came through the ranks at Barcelona’s La Masia academy and made 101 appearances in all competitions, before Pep Guardiola took him to Bayern in 2013.

The midfielder has been heavily linked with a return to Catalonia recently, with the two clubs being in contact over the past couple of days, according to Marca.

The Bundesliga winners have quoted Barcelona a €70m price to take Thiago back, with Marca suggesting that Barca could include Lucas Digne in the deal.

Bayern are reportedly interested in left-back Digne, so Barcelona could use him to help meet the demands of the Bavarian club.
