Bees and Bantams~share the spoils

The hosts broke the deadlock after nine minutes when Glenn Poole’s low drive from 20 yards flashed inside the far post.

But the lead was shortlived as the Bantams struck back seven minutes later through Peter Thorne, whose half-volley from the edge of the box flew in off the crossbar.

And minutes later the visitors were ahead when Kyle Nix fired home a superb drive from 25 yards after latching on to a knock down from former Brentford player Alex Rhodes.

But the Bees got the point their possession deserved when on-loan defender Alan Bennett slammed home his first league goal, his 30-yard effort going in off the crossbar.

Brentford pressed for the winner in the second half but failed to make the breakthrough.
