Benitez: ‘The goal for me was a foul’

Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez felt his side should have left Brighton with at least a point, and believes the goal the home side scored should have been disallowed.

Tomer Hemed’s smart finish five minutes after half time was enough to seperate the sides in an entertaining match.

“We did enough to get a point at least,” Benitez told Sky Sports post-match.

“Both teams had chances. We had a lot of control and good chances at the end.

“The goal for me was a foul, pushing and blocking. But you cannot change the decision.

“We deserved more. We are still without too much experience in the Premier League. We have to manage these situations a bit better.”
