Besiktas president Fikret Orman has lifted the lid on the situation surrounding striker Cenk Tosun, who is wanted by Everton.

Orman has confirmed that a deal has not been finalised to sell Tosun to Everton, adding that the club has received a higher bid of €35million (£31m) from China.

Reports emerged suggesting that the 26-year-old only wants a move to Goodison Park this winter in order to play in the Premier League, something the Besiktas chief confirmed.

Speaking at a press conference in Turkey this morning, Orman said: “Besiktas is a serious club, which goes according to international football rules.

“Everton have made an offer but China offered 35 million Euros for Cenk Tosun. And we said no. He is very valuable player for us.

“Cenk wants Everton. Negotiations are going on, with goodness. There is no finished situation right now. If the conditions are right for us, the transfer takes place.”
