Leeds United are reported to have informed Liverpool they have no intention of moving for Harry Wilson this summer, despite claims the Reds are willing to sell the midfielder for a cut-price fee this summer.

The Wales international winger has been around at Liverpool for some time, but it has not felt that way. Indeed, since beginning to progress through the club’s youth ranks in 2013 as a teenager, he has only made two senior appearances. Instead, he has just completed his fifth loan spell in that period, this time with Cardiff.

Wilson has also had spells at Hull City, Bournemouth, Derby and Crewe. And he’s failed to win over Reds boss Jurgen Klopp despite impressing in particular during his time at Pride Park.

That has led to growing claims this summer that Liverpool will let Wilson leave for a cut-price fee. With two years left on his deal, it’s claimed Liverpool could let Wilson leave for as little as £10m.

That has led to speculation that Leeds could rekindle their interest. Wilson has been courted by the club in both 2018 and 2019, though they did not make a firm approach.

However, despite claims Liverpool would sell for a reduced price, Football Insider claims they have no plans to resurrect their interest.

And while Leeds are in the market for a new winger this summer, it’s understood Wilson will not be pursued.

Mick McCarthy is not getting carried away by Cardiff’s superb form but reserved special praise for Harry Wilson after his stunning goal in the win at Luton.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side are instead exploring other options. Club Brugge star Noa Lang is one such target.

The Whites have also been linked with a tasty Brazilian star, who could form an exciting attack with Raphinha.

Wilson open to Liverpool exit

It all means Wilson faces another period of uncertainty with his nomandic career yet to take him somewhere else this summer.

Wilson has scored seven goals and contributed 12 assists in 37 appearances for the Bluebirds this season.

And while Wilson accepts he’s unlikely to make it at Liverpool, he appears open to the prospect of another move away.

he has admitted that he is not expecting big things to happen over his future on Merseyside.

“Yeah, maybe,” Wilson told Sgoiro last month when asked if it would feel strange to permanently leave Liverpool.

“I feel my senior career has been elsewhere so far.

“I’m 150-200 appearances deep now and only a couple have been at Liverpool.

“The club will always be close to my heart, but if it means moving away to further my career then so be it.”
