Arsenal have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Ever Banega, after reports claimed that the midfielder wants two guarantees before committing to a move to Emirates Stadium.
New Arsenal boss Unai Emery wants a reunion with Banega, who he worked with in a successful spell at Sevilla.
However, before making the move, Banega wants clarification over the side’s playing style and the amount of game time he will receive. According to La Colina de Nervion, who report on Sevilla matters, Banega is concerned about moving to a new league after spending a relatively unsuccessful one-year stint in Italy with Inter Milan.
After making a career-high 50 appearances in all competitions last season, the 29-year-old is also worried about the amount of game time he will receive – a problem which has already seen Jack Wilshere decide to leave Arsenal after a 17-year association with the club.
Wilshere’s departure has now forced the Gunners to look at new midfield targets, with the club particularly keen on Sampdoria starlet Lucas Torreira, who was one of the best young players in Serie A last season.
