Bobby Duncan agent goads Liverpool again with incredible brag

Bobby Duncan’s outspoken agent Saif Rubie has taken to social media to herald his client’s move to Fiorentina, claiming the transfer is “is what leaders do”.

The teenage striker sealed a move to the Italian outfit on Monday, after the agent’s desperate attempts to secure a move from Anfield paid off, having accused the club’s sporting director Michael Edwards of “mentally bullying” the young star.

The strongly-worded statement quite rightly angered the Liverpool faithful, with Jamie Carragher among those to have their say about the way Rubie tried to engineer a way out of Liverpool for his client.

The criticisms from Rubie came about after the Reds had rejected approaches for the player from FC Nordsjaelland and Fiorentina, but ultimately the agent got his way and the player was able to complete a €2million (£1.8m) transfer to La Viola.

However, Rubie – who was not part of the final negotiations to take his client to Florence  – could not resist having the last word on Duncan’s transfer and appeared to defend his actions after labelling his client as looking to be “the top one percent,” and bragging that “we are not followers”.

“To be in the top one percent you have to be prepared to do what 99 percent of the rest won’t do,” Rubie wrote.

“In my line of work I know nobody even comes near. Not everything in life is black and white and you have to be able to adapt and roll with the punches.

“Now Bobby Duncan has the opportunity to live and experience something not many young English players have done. That’s what leaders do. We are not followers.

“Thanks to all the people who have supported me in this difficult period means a lot.

“The joy of getting the job done makes all the struggle and doubt worthwhile.”

In a post of his on Instagram, Duncan expressed that he is “really happy to sign for Fiorentina” and “even more excited to get started”.
