Adam Bogdan: Ready to end Liverpool misery

Adam Bogdan has been dropped from Liverpool’s Europa League squad and young goalkeeper Danny Ward has been added to the list.

Bogdan recently made two high-profile mistakes after he was thrown into the action in the 3-0 defeat at Watford and the 2-2 FA Cup draw at Exeter.

Bogdan made a hash of collecting a corner after just three minutes of the defeat at Vicarage Road in December and he then failed to collect another corner at the first attempt and allowed Exeter to scramble home in the FA Cup last month.

New boy Steven Caulker and Joao Carlos Teixeira have both been added by Jurgen Klopp, but long-term injury victims Danny Ings and Joe Gomez have been removed.

Under UEFA rules teams are permitted to make three changes to their squads ahead of the round of 32, where Liverpool face Augsburg over two legs later this month (Feb 18 and Feb 25).

The club had until midnight on February 2 to notify UEFA of the changes to their squad.

Fit-again Jon Flanagan also misses out, while Jose Enrique, who was named captain for the recent FA Cup replay against Exeter, is also omitted.

Only Italian side Napoli of the 32 teams remaining have not made changes to their available list of players.

Liverpool Europa League squad: Simon Mignolet, Danny Ward, Nathaniel Clyne, Steven Caulker, Kolo Toure, Dejan Lovren, Alberto Moreno, Mamadou Sakho, Martin Skrtel, Lucas Leiva, Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Emre Can, Joe Allen, Philippe Coutinho, Adam Lallana, Roberto Firmino, Divock Origi, Joao Teixeira, Daniel Sturridge, Christian Benteke.
