Midfielder David Brooks is set to complete a medical at Bournemouth ahead of a move from Sheffield United.

Former Manchester City youngster Brooks made 30 appearances in the Championship last season, and made his senior Wales debut in November.

Bournemouth are believed to have paid £12m for the 20-year-old, who will become their first signing of the summer. Add-ons included in the deal could see the fee rise to £15m, according to The Star.

Brooks had been linked with Premier League giants Liverpool and Tottenham in January. He only signed a new contract at Bramall Lane in October.

Sheffield United had been hoping to keep him, but realised his intention leave when he changed agents to try and secure a move. He is now represented by the same agent as England captain Harry Kane.

Brooks is thought to be completing his medical today, with an official announcement expected tomorrow.
