Brazilian star reveals failed Chelsea deadline day bid

Chelsea failed with a final-day offer for Bayern Munich star Rafinha, the Brazilian has admitted.

The Bayern man would have been yet another full-back to join the Blues squad, after they brought in Davide Zappacosta from Torino over the summer, but the move failed to materialise.

Rafinha also claimed that he had offers from Spanish clubs: “Bayern’s bosses know I already had offers from England and Spain before the season started.”

The 32-year-old has been a regular for Bayern this season, however, starting five Bundesliga games but that was in stark contract to last campaign when he only made 20 appearances overall.

“I have Bayern in my heart and I always give 100 percent – they can always count on me.

“Therefore, I think those responsible understand that I really want to play, otherwise I will have to think about my future.”

Rafinha added: “I have a very good relationship and contact with the coach [Carlo Ancelotti] and I’m convinced I will get my game time.”
