Brendan Rodgers gives verdict on links to Arsenal job

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers insists he has no desire to quit Parkhead amid claims he will be approached by Arsenal over the upcoming managerial vacancy.

With Arsene Wenger announcing on Friday that his 22-year reign as Gunners boss would end this summer, Rodgers was quickly installed as bookmakers favourite for the job.

According to Sunday’s newspapers, Rodgers is among four candidates that Arsenal wish to interview, with Luis Enrique, Max Allegri and Leonardo Jardim also in the mix.

But the former Liverpool boss was having none of it when questioned about replacing the Frenchman at Emirates Stadium.

“I’ve always said that I’m living my dream here,” Bhoys boss Rodgers said.

“There will be somewhere I can go and maybe earn two or three times more money – but it’s not about that.

“I would speak to the board but it will take something extraordinary to take me from here.

“After this season I have three more years and will be so happy if I can see those out.

“I am privileged to be here as the manager. I want to help the club grow and develop.”
