Brentford have exercised an option in forward Jota’s contract that will see the Spaniard remain with the Bees next season.

The 25-year-old has scored 12 times and provided eight assists since returning from a loan spell with Eibar in January and the Bees have triggered a clause in his deal to extend it until the summer of 2018.

Jota, a product of the Celta Vigo youth system, originally moved to Griffin Park back in 2014 and had signed a new contract prior to returning to Spain on loan in 2016 due to personal issue

The arrangement was then cut short by six months when the 25-year-old came back to the club in January.
