Bristol City v Walsall preview

Bristol City are sweating on the fitness of Aaron Wilbraham as they prepare to sign off a memorable season against Walsall.

The Saddlers were the opponents at Wembley as City strolled to the first of two trophies this season and they will wait and see if their experienced striker can shake off a heel injury as they look to start the season as they finished it, with a 16-game unbeaten run.

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas is set to partner Kieran Agard if Wilbraham does not make it after the pair linked up well in the 2-0 win at Chesterfield last weekend.

Captain Wade Elliott will hope to be given a start in the final match of the campaign.

Adam Chambers will be assessed after taking a bang on the knee last week but Walsall are hopeful he will be fit.

The midfielder returned to full training on Friday and is also expected to train on Saturday ahead of the game.

Craig MacGillivray could keep his place ahead of regular No.1 Richard O’Donnell as boss Dean Smith looks to give the rookie keeper game time following his debut in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Oldham.

The Saddlers are on a seven-game unbeaten run with Smith not expected to make many changes for the finale.
