Broadcaster makes huge Raul Jimenez to Man Utd transfer claim

Wolves striker Raul Jimenez is ‘on his way to Manchester United this summer’,  according to a Portuguese broadcaster.

Jimenez has scored 26 times in all competitions this season to help Wolves finish seventh in the Premier League.

What’s more, he has helped his side get to the last-16 of the Europa League, with the competition restarting in August.

However, the striker has been strongly linked with a move to United.

Jimenez himself has done little to dampen the talk either. He stated back in February that the idea of a move was of interest.

“One is always open to everything, but I have a contract until 2023,” he told ESPN Mexico.

Now Portuguese broadcaster RTP claims the Mexico striker will get his dream move to Old Trafford this summer.

Furthermore, they state Wolves have already struck a deal to sign his replacement in Paulinho

They state the Braga frontman has already agreed terms to move to Molineux in a transfer orchestrated by super-agent Jorge Mendes.

Paulinho has been in lethal form for the Portuguese side this season. The Portuguese star has scored 25 goals and provided nine assists in 48 appearances.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in the market for a new striker this summer, but it was not thought to be his priority. That’s because winger Jadon Sancho and a new centre-half were thought to be of immediate focus.

Any deal for Jimenez will not come cheap either. The striker is valued at around £50m by Wolves; a fair price given his record of 43 goals in 93 games for the club.

Ferdinand backs Jimenez swoop

The move for Jimenez will be fully sanctioned by former defender Rio Ferdinand.

He stated just last week that he would make him an immediate priority this summer.

“I wouldn’t say no at all. I think he’s something different to what they’ve got,” Ferdinand said.

“What I like about him is he scores all types of goals. He’s at the back post heading things and bullying defenders, and he can score tremendous goals out of nothing.”
