Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba wants a new deal at the club after witnessing Bruno Fernandes’ stunning impact on the side, according to reports.

Pogba has long been linked with a move away from Old Trafford in recent months, with Real Madrid and former club Juventus said to be interested.

Indeed, such speculation has been heightened by his agent, Mino Raiola, who has been outspoken with claims that his client has a deep-rooted love for Italy.

However, more recent reports have suggested that Pogba is warming to the idea of staying at Old Trafford given their upturn in fortunes over recent weeks; the Red Devils are unbeaten in 10 matches since a 2-0 defeat to Burnley in January.

According to the Daily Mail, Pogba has gone one step further and now wants to cement his place in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team with fresh terms.

The newspaper claims that Pogba has been persuaded by Fernandes’ performances, the January arrival scoring three goals and assisting three others in his eight appearances so far.

It is said that France international Pogba believes he can form an exciting partnership with Fernandes, having been unable to make his mark this season due to injury.

New terms for Pogba would reportedly take his earnings up to £400,000 per week from his current £300,000 wage.

The 26-year-old has not started a game for United since September due to two separate foot injuries, the latter suffered at the end of last year.

In other news, United’s Europa League clash with LASK on Thursday will be played behind closed doors due to fears about the spread of the coronavirus.

The Red Devils travel to Austria for the first leg before hosting the return leg at Old Trafford next Thursday.
