Philipp Max TEAMtalk

Augsburg full-back Philipp Max has denied that an offer was made for him from potential suitors Manchester United and PSG this summer.

Max was said to have been a major target for the two giants of European football but stayed put in the Bundesliga and recently put pen to paper on a new contract which now runs until 2022.

The 24-year-old has admitted that he was fully aware of all the speculation over his future but insists he never had a decision to make as no concrete offers were put to him.

“Some things you read in the newspaper, some things are passed on through your agent”, he told¬†Lattenkreuz.de.

“It was not that I was dealing with an offer.

“It was important for me to focus on pre-season. I think that went quite well.”

Max now insists that his future with Augsburg depends on what offers arrive in the future.

“It always depends on whether there are specific requests.¬†That was not the case this summer.”
