Augsburg full-back Philipp Max has denied that an offer was made for him from potential suitors Manchester United and PSG this summer.
Max was said to have been a major target for the two giants of European football but stayed put in the Bundesliga and recently put pen to paper on a new contract which now runs until 2022.
The 24-year-old has admitted that he was fully aware of all the speculation over his future but insists he never had a decision to make as no concrete offers were put to him.
“Some things you read in the newspaper, some things are passed on through your agent”, he told Lattenkreuz.de.
“It was not that I was dealing with an offer.
“It was important for me to focus on pre-season. I think that went quite well.”
Max now insists that his future with Augsburg depends on what offers arrive in the future.
“It always depends on whether there are specific requests. That was not the case this summer.”
