Chelsea will reportedly offer the injured Callum Hudson-Odoi a deal worth around £100,000 a week in a bid to keep the talented teenager at Stamford Bridge.
The Telegraph and the Daily Mail both report that Chelsea are keen to tie the 18-year-old to a new deal with his existing contract set to expire in the summer of 2020.
The England starlet saw his season ended on Monday when he ruptured Achilles tendon during the draw with Burnley.
Hudson-Odoi has flown to Barcelona to visit a specialist and will undergo surgery, which is hoped will sideline him for just six months.
The Telegraph claims the “injury is likely to end Bayern Munich’s hopes of signing him during the summer”.
Chelsea however are hoping to capitalise on the situation by showing Hudson-Odoi how highly they rate him with a new long-term contract put on the table.
Hudson-Odoi has previously rejected all offers of an extension and handed in a transfer request in January in a bid to move to Bayern Munich, but Chelsea turned down the advances of the Bundesliga giants.
Maurizio Sarri has always claimed that Hudson-Odoi is a key man for the Blues, but the Italian has recently started to play the young winger and he has started the last four Premier League games to increase optimism that the England man could stay put.
The Mail though reports that Hudson-Odoi will not rush into signing an extension with the club and he could feasibly walk away in the summer of 2020 as a free agent.
