Eric Cantona: The self-proclaimed Commissioner of Football

Eric Cantona has thrown his hat into the ring for the role of England manager in typically-brazen fashion.

Roy Hodgson resigned as the manager of England earlier this week after England’s humbling defeat to Iceland, which knocked them out of the Euros.

The search for a replacement is already underway, with several names being tipped as the future England boss.

Reports indicated that Arsene Wenger could be seen as potential choice for the role, while England Under-21 manager Gareth Southgate has ruled himself out of the running.

Other names thrown up in the air include the likes of Eddie Howe, Jurgen Klinsmann, Glenn Hoddle and Laurent Blanc.

However, England’s saviour may come yet in the form of Manchester United legend Cantona, who has labelled himself the ‘Commissioner of Football’ in a series of commercials.

And to further his ‘credentials’, the Frenchman has posted a video wearing an England shirt and humorously pledged “never to lose to a small frozen Island”.

Take a look – it’s definitely worth a watch…..
