Cardiff poised to sign 20-year-old defender via Jamie Vardy’s academy

Cardiff City could give a Welsh youngster the chance to play Premier League football after he impressed at Jamie Vardy’s V9 Academy.

Ryan Pryce, 20, has been playing as a full-back for The New Saints in the Welsh Premier League, and was recently invited to join Vardy’s academy.

The England striker set up the academy to help young players follow in his footsteps by working their way from non-league to the Premier League.

Pryce could become one of the first fruits of the setup, with HITC Sport claiming that Premier League newcomers Cardiff have been alerted to his potential.

The right-back went on trial at Middlesbrough last summer, and was involved at Shrewsbury Town as a youngster.

Cardiff are now preparing to sign the youngster, who would become the first player from the V9 Academy to sign for a Premier League club.

The Bluebirds were promoted to the top division after finishing 2nd in the Championship, and are yet to add to their squad from last season.
