Ancelotti makes call in attempt to lure Real Madrid, Barcelona target to Everton

Kalidou Koulibaly, Fabian Ruiz TEAMtalk

Carlo Ancelotti would like to be reunited with Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz at Everton, according to a report.

Ancelotti has often turned to players he has worked with before when recruiting at Everton. For example, in the summer, he managed to lure former Bayern Munich and Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez to Goodison Park.

Another of his former players to make the move to Merseyside was Allan, who joined from Napoli. And the Brazilian is not the only player Ancelotti could look to take from his previous employers.

According to Todofichajes, the Italian tactician would like to sign Fabian Ruiz. In fact, he has already made contact with the player – who has not ruled out the move.

Ruiz has been frequently linked with a move to one of the biggest clubs in his native Spain. The report from Todofichajes reminds that Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are all interested.

However, the website claims Everton is the most likely destination for the midfielder at present. They can offer him a better salary than what he earns in Naples and are showing their ambition on the pitch this season.

Ancelotti guided Everton to wins in their first four games of the Premier League this season. While their form has since dipped, they remain optimistic of having a positive season.

Ancelotti is also showing he can attract big players to the club, and Ruiz would be another example if he was to make the move.

The 24-year-old has previously been linked with their rivals Liverpool, as well as Manchester City and Manchester United. However, Everton are hoping they can compete with clubs of that calibre in the race to sign him.

The report claims they could try and find a deal in January. However, it is worth noting the number of competitors for his signature may not make things easy.

Napoli have been trying to extend Ruiz’s contract, but have been unsuccessful so far. Therefore, the player could consider a departure.
