Celtic have been linked with a move for Rennes defender Brandon Soppy, despite the 18-year-old still waiting to make his first-team debut for the club.
Eurosport’s Manu Lonjon made the claim on his Twitter feed on Monday, suggesting that Bundesliga side RB Leipzig and Ligue 1 Nice are also keeping tabs on the versatile right-back.
Soppy is valued at around €8million (£7.3m) in the French media and has also been linked with Monaco and Premier League side Wolves in the past.
It is understood that Soppy’s performances in the UEFA Youth League have seen scouts flocking to see him, although the current postponement of top-flight football throughout Europe has put transfer business on hold for now.
Celtic were linked with Soppy’s Roazhon Park team-mate James Lea Siliki earlier in the season, and have favoured the French leagues in recent years after bringing in the likes of Christopher Jullien, Odsonne Edouard and Timothy Weah.
