Champions League hero reveals what glory means to people of Liverpool

Liverpool’s Champions League hero Divock Origi has admitted he is revelling in the celebrations following their triumph in Madrid.

Origi arguably scored two of the most important goals in the club’s recent history, including the winning goal as part of a brace in the semi-finals as Liverpool overturned a 3-0 first-leg deficit against Barcelona.

He came off the bench in the final against Spurs and scored a late second for Liverpool to ensure that Jurgen Klopp captured his first trophy at Anfield.

The Belgian striker reflected on the mood: “It feels good. I think we can celebrate. We have a wonderful team and Liverpool is celebrating, we can feel it.

“It means a lot to the people, I can see it in their eyes and in their reaction.

“It means so much and it’s beautiful for us because we give so much on the pitch and whenever you come back and you get a welcome like this it’s always good.”

Meanwhile, Liverpool have learnt where their Club World Cup exploits will take them later this year as Klopp and Co look to add another trophy to the cabinet.
