Everton have rejected enquiries for a number of clubs, including Charlton, to sign midfielder Liam Walsh on loan, sources have told TEAMtalk.com
Walsh has come through the ranks at Everton after joining the club at the age of five and he is highly-regarded in the corridors of power at Goodison Park.
The 18-year-old enjoyed a successful loan spell at Yeovil Town last season and played a key part in the club avoiding relegation after joining on-loan in January.
Walsh made 17 appearances during his stint at Huish Park and his performances brought him to the attention of a number of other clubs.
Charlton have held a long-term interest in Walsh this summer with Addicks boss Russell Slade keen to bring the playmaker to the Valley, but so far Everton have resisted their overtures.
A number of clubs are monitoring Walsh’s situation at Goodison Park and it remains to be seen if Everton will sanction a loan move for the midfielder before Wednesday’s transfer deadline.
