Three clubs have reportedly been placed on red alert as Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has snubbed a new deal.

Aubameyang was linked with a move to both the Premier League and Serie A this summer, admitting he would have loved a return to former club Milan.

Although an exit never materialised, according to Calciomercato, Aubameyang may decide not to sign a contract extension anytime in the future.

The report claims that “after a summer of speculation, Borussia Dortmund had offered the player a huge contract extension”.

Aubameyang even admitted that he wanted an exit, ideally to Milan: “I want AC Milan but they fell asleep”, the 28-year-old said.

Liverpool legend Phil Thompson has insisted Jurgen Klopp must sign a striker in January and has suggested that Aubameyang could be just the man.

“I do feel that come January we need to improve the defenders and get an out-and-out striker,” he told Sky Sports. “If Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang became available then he should be on our hit list.”
