Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez has cooled talk on a return to Premier League with either former club Manchester United or Chelsea.

The Mexican has been linked with a £34million move, but he has stated that he is not openly looking to leave Germany and is currently happy where he is.

“Why would I like to stay in the Bundesliga? Because I feel good and I’m happy,” Hernandez told bundesliga.com.

“I’ve learned a lot in the Bundesliga, as a player and as a man.

“I like playing in the Champions League, and luckily Bayer have been involved in the last few years. We hope we can achieve that goal again in the second half of the season.”

Javier Hernandez’s agent has also recently dismissed reports that his client will be sold this month.

“First of all, the claim that Javier has a bad relationship with his team-mates and the club is a great lie,” Eduardo Hernandez told La Aficion.

“Secondly, neither is it true that the club is allowing him to leave.

“This is a badly aimed report, badly done, with bad intentions. It’s only there to tarnish the image of Javier. He’s not even thinking about leaving the club.”
