Chelsea have a very real and genuine interest in signing Paulo Dybala from Juventus summer, reports in Italy have stated.

It’s been reported that Juve want to cash in on Dybala this summer to raise funds for a new attacker.

With his contract due to expire in 2022, the Argentine is being tipped to depart Turin.

With finances tight at Juve, he looks like being the man to make way this summer. The sale of Dybala seems more likely than ever given Cristiano Ronaldo, 36, was told by the Serie A side’s sporting director, Fabio Paratici, that he represents the “future” of Juventus.

The 27-year-old has only scored three goals and added two assists in 16 appearances this season. However, Dybala has not featured in the Juve side since January due to a ligament injury.

As such, a report on Monday claimed both Tottenham and Chelsea were major contenders for his signature. Juve are seeking €60m (£51.7m) for a forward, who boasts 98 goals in 244 appearances for Juve.

The former Palermo star has been a target for Tottenham since Mauricio Pochettino’s days at the club. That interest has continued under Jose Mourinho, who wants another proven marksman alongside Harry Kane.

However, Calciomercato believes Dybala is more likely to sign for Chelsea. They state new Blues boss Thomas Tuchel has identified the former Palermo man as a key target this summer.

And in order to land his man, the Italian outlet claims Tuchel is ready to give Juve their pick of three players in part exchange. As per the report, the most likely man to make way is Italy midfielder Jorginho. He has been strongly linked with the Old Lady ever since Maurizio Sarri’s appointment there.

While Sarri is no longer in charge, it’s claimed the player remains of interest to successor Andrea Pirlo.

However, he’s not the only main Chelsea are reportedly trying to bait Juve with. Also on offer are Timo Werner and Christian Pulisic, two players struggling to find their best this season.

Reports last week sensationally claimed Werner is looking to move on this summer after failing to settle.

The forward penned a five-year deal in June 2020, but there is a “growing expectation” he could quit and return to Germany.

A transfer may even be in offing this summer, claim the source, after a turbulent time with the Blues.

Werner scored 34 goals in 45 games last season for RB Leipzig, including 28 in 34 Bundesliga games.

American Pulisic, meanwhile, set pulses racing with several explosive performances last season.

Injury issues have hampered his progress this term. In his most recent outing, Pulisic unconventionally started as right-wing-back. One Blues cult hero though claimed this made the American look “completely useless”.

Recent reports spoke of Pulisic’s potential exit, though these drew an emphatic response from Tuchel.

Nevertheless, speculation over a possible summer exit has continued, with Liverpool and Man Utd both said to be interested.

Now, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Pulisic is attracting interest from ‘top clubs’. Furthermore, he has revealed details of when a decision on his future could be made.

Chelsea boss stresses need for patience

Meanwhile, Tuchel has insisted Pulisic remains an integral part of his squad.

Regarding his lack of gametime prior to his first league start under Tuchel on Saturday, the German said: “When you sign and play for Chelsea, it’s part of the job description. You must be patient and impatient at the same time. All of my players are competitors and they want to play every minute.

“At the same time, when you’re not selected, you have to stay patient. It’s important not to lose confidence.

“When it was possible for him to start around Sheffield United and Barnsley, one game came too soon. Barnsley wasn’t easy.

“If you turn it around, it’s the duty of the players to show up and really earn to play. This is what Christian does.

“I feel him in the last days very positive and doing the very best in his situation.”
