Chelsea to break Liverpool hearts as Todd Boehly lines up blockbuster move for Klopp favourite amid great opportunity

Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah, Liverpool

Chelsea could leave Liverpool fans heartbroken by signing one of Jurgen Klopp’s famed front three this summer, according to a sensational report.

Klopp will be able to use just one of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino next season as the latter prepares to leave Anfield. His contract expires in June and he will therefore be able to find a new club via a free transfer.

Mane has already left Liverpool, having joined Bayern Munich in a £35million transfer last summer.

Liverpool supporters will have been extremely sad about Mane leaving after all he achieved on Merseyside, and the same can be said of Firmino.

But at least those involved with the Reds will still be able to enjoy Salah’s performances for a few more years. His contract runs until summer 2025 and he is showing no signs of wanting to leave Liverpool just yet.

Plus, the right winger remains a big threat. This season he has registered 27 goals and 11 assists in 44 matches across all competitions.

But Salah could come up against Mane in the race for the Premier League golden boot award next season. According to Football Insider, Chelsea have shockingly registered their interest in the Bayern man.

Chelsea need a new centre-forward to lead their attack next season. They are interested in Victor Osimhen of Napoli but will struggle to sign him without breaking Financial Fair Play regulations after spending so much in the last two transfer windows.

Chelsea linked with shock Bayern swoop

The Telegraph state prospective new head coach Mauricio Pochettino will offer Romelu Lukaku a ‘lifeline’ by letting him get his Chelsea career back on track next term. But instead, Football Insider have talked up the possibility of Mane going to Stamford Bridge.

Mane is apparently in Todd Boehly’s sights as the Chelsea chairman looks to add goals to the squad.

While the Senegalese has only recently landed at Bayern, they will listen to offers for him in the summer following his bust-up with team-mate Leroy Sane.

Mane would like to move past that incident and focus on becoming a success at the Allianz Arena. But Bayern chiefs simply cannot look past it and are hoping to get rid, with Chelsea one potential destination.

Liverpool fans would be distraught seeing Mane represent one of their ‘big six’ Premier League rivals. He became a hero at Anfield thanks to his ability to score brilliant goals, his excellent link-up play with Salah and Firmino and his tireless running.

There have been rumours that Mane might return to Liverpool as he has apparently told friends he misses the club. Former Reds defender Kolo Toure has admitted Klopp misses Mane’s ‘big personality’, though he has urged the German to place his trust in new forwards Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez.

“I think he will stick with them [Gakpo and Nunez]. He needs to give them time to show they are capable to fit to the Liverpool team,” Toure said. “As a player, you have to do your best to show you are capable of performing for them. If you don’t, it’s going to be the next one [player].

“Jurgen is a great manager; he’s doing a great job. I think he’s trying to find players who are going to have the chemistry to keep the team fighting for the title.”
