Chelsea have reportedly asked for a discount from Juventus to sign Gonzalo Higuain.
The Argentina striker only arrived on loan from Juve, via a loan spell with AC Milan, less than a month ago, but the Blues are already trying to negotiate a discount.
Maurizio Sarri’s men have a summer option to buy Higuain for €36million or extend the loan for another season in the summer, though will have to pay an €18million fee to secure the 31-year-old’s services for an extra 12 months.
The Blues are yet to make a decision on the striker’s future, but it has been claimed in Italy that they have already been in talks with Juventus over a cut-price deal.
Italian daily Corriere di Torino, report that Chelsea are hoping for a discount on the player, who has scored twice in three Premier League appearances.
Chelsea apparently are eyeing signing him on a permanent deal and are looking to pay no more than €30million for his services.
For the time being that has not been accepted by Juve, who paid £75million for the player in July 2016, but Chelsea are hoping to work on a potential deal from now until the end of the season.
Higuain scored eight goals in 22 games for Milan this season, but he was at his best working under Sarri at Napoli in 2015-16, when he scored 38 goals.
