Chelsea dashed as young striker agrees bargain Bayern Munich move

Bayern Munich have an agreement in place to sign Hamburg youngster Jann-Fiete Arp, report Bild.

The German paper, via Sport Witness, claim the contracts are signed and all that is left to determine is whether the 19-year-old will join this summer or summer 2020.

Apparently though Hamburg have no say over when move happens and will get just €2.5million for the striker who has been dubbed  ‘the new Harry Kane’.

Bild always claimed that the Bundesliga champions were set to sign Arp from relegated Hamburg, but Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea all held an interest in the player.

Arp played 18 times for Hamburg, becoming the first ever player born in 2000 to play in the Bundesliga last season.

In November 2017 TEAMtalk revealed Chelsea were confident that they had all but tied up a deal for Arp.

He was offered the chance to move to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2018, but he decided against the move as he wanted to gain more experience and Chelsea were happy to step back.

Arp’s contract was up in June 2019, but he put pen to paper on a deal through 2020 last summer, and at the time said: “Leaving this club was never an option for me.”

Arp scored 18 goals in 19 games for Germany’s U17 side, and has drawn comparisons to Kane for his 6’2″ frame and range of goals, while he now has one goal in three games for the Germany U19s.
