Chelsea have reached an agreement worth €25million (£22.4million) to see full-back Emerson Palmieri move to Inter Milan, according to a report.
Reports have long linked the former Roma left-back with a move back to Serie A, with Juventus allegedly keen.
Indeed, Emerson has only played 14 Premier League games this season. What’s more, he has not featured at all since January, making the bench twice since as an unused substitute.
Furthermore, while Juventus reportedly hold an interest, it is Inter Milan who have allegedly agreed a deal.
Il Messagero says the two clubs have reached an agreement involving a loan with an obligation to buy Emerson.
As such, with the deal reached, agents and intermediaries are in talks to sign off on the deal.
The source claims Inter and former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, who brought Emerson to Stamford Bridge, had requested a reunion.
While insisting his happiness, Emerson also said in May that has a fond connection with Conte and Juve boss Maurizio Sarri.
Meanwhile, left-back is reportedly an area Lampard is keen to revamp in the upcoming transfer window.
As well as Emerson, he is reportedly uncertain about the longevity of Marcos Alonso. The speculation comes amid claims Lampard wants to sign Leicester’s Ben Chilwell.
£22m BOOST FOR CHELSEA?
Should the reports of the deal with Inter for Emerson be true, the monies would be a welcome boost for Chelsea.
The Blues have already spent over £80million on Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech. And Chelsea are reportedly the favourites to sign Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz.
The latest reports surrounding the German say he is ready to hand in a transfer request to force a move.
