Chelsea fans: Targeted with CS spray at Parc des Princes

French police used tear gas on Chelsea supporters during the Champions League tie at Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night.

According to the Daily Mail, police used the measure after John Obi Mikel’s equaliser to calm fans at the Blues’ 2-1 first-leg defeat, although some officers claimed it was an accident.

It is the second-consecutive year France’s anti-riot CRS units at the Parc des Princes have used CS spray on Chelsea fans.

When the two clubs met in the same competition last season, groups of supporters clashed around Paris, although it is understood there were no repeats of such incidents this year.
