Chelsea fear Loftus-Cheek could leave – Reports
Chelsea officials fear Ruben Loftus-Cheek could run down his contract at the club with Jose Mourinho reluctant to use the youngster.
Midfielder Loftus-Cheek, who has just over 18 months left on his contract, is highly rated at Stamford Bridge but has played only 140 minutes of first-team football this season.
And according to the Daily Telegraph, the 19-year-old may be unwilling to sign a new deal amid reported interest from the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Mourinho handed Loftus-Cheek his Chelsea debut last season, before promising to give the starlet a run of games in the first-team after the Blues were beaten at home by Southampton.
The England Under-21 international was handed a start against Aston Villa, only to be hauled off at half-time.
Following that game, Mourinho publicly criticised the teenager, while he also lambasted his performance in a pre-season friendly against Sydney, saying the pair’s relationship had taken “one step back”.
