Atletico Madrid are considering a move to sign Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata in a permanent £50million deal, a report claims.

The Spain striker joined Atletico from Chelsea on an 18-month loan deal in January, having been made surplus to requirements by then head coach Maurizio Sarri.

Morata, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from Real Madrid for a then club-record £57m fee in July 2017, scored 24 goals in 72 appearances during his spell with the Blues – helping them win the FA Cup during his debut campaign in west London.

The player himself revealed that he was hoping to secure a permanent stay at the Wanda Metropolitano, claiming he felt ‘loved’ there.

It looks like the former Real Madrid man will get his wish too, as the Telegraph are stating that Atletico are ready to launch a bid to sign Morata on a permanent basis.

The report claims that Blues want around £50million if they are to sell the forward this summer, something which is no doubt swayed by the fact they have a transfer ban which prohibits them from signings players for the next two windows.d
