Ramires: Brazil midfielder could leave Chelsea

Chelsea have been linked with Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Thiago Silva but could sell Ramires, according to reports on Sunday.

The Blues have conceded 34 goals in 22 Premier League games this season, and according to the Daily Star Sunday they want to sign Silva on loan this month.

The Sun on Sunday, meanwhile, claims Chelsea are willing to sell Ramires this month to generate extra transfer funds and free up wages.

The Brazilian, 28, has not started in the Premier League since a 2-1 defeat at Leicester City on December 14 and is apparently seen as ‘expendable’ despite only signing a new four-year deal at the club in the summer.

Interestingly, PSG – and Bayern Munich – are said to have already expressed an interest in signing a player Chelsea rate at £18million, potentially increasing the chances of the Blues landing Silva or Marquinhos, who they have also been linked with.

A major overhaul of the squad is expected at Stamford Bridge in the summer, but there is apparently a one-in, one-out policy this month.

That could lead, the newspaper claims, to Loic Remy joining Crystal Palace, Swansea City or Newcastle United if Chelsea buy Alexandre Pato.
