Chelsea have been told that they must pay €100million if they are to land a Real Madrid star this summer, a report claims.

According to Sky Italia, the Blues have been told that they must pay around £90m if they want midfielder Mateo Kovacic.

The Croatia international has been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, with Manchester United, Spurs and West Ham all linked.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is looking to use the high asking price to ward off potential suitors.

Kovacic joined Real from Inter Milan for €29m back in 2015, but struggled for playing time under Zinedine Zidane last season.

However, with Zidane no longer at the helm, it remains to be seen what the plans of new coach Julen Lopetegui are for the player.
